BHI would like to inform those who are not aware of the acknowledgement of Irma's 30 years of working within the voluntary sector in Leeds.
Irma's hard work was acknowledged and rewarded by an OBE within the Queen's New Year Honours list.

Black Health Initiative has recently become a member of
NHS National BME Cancer Alliance.
On Wednesday 7th December, BHI Director, Heather Nelson was invited to the House of Commons for the NHS Cancer Doesn't Discriminate Campaign launch hosted by David Lammy MP, with guest speakers Professor Sir Mike Richards (National Cancer Director), and Diane Abbott MP.
The invitation to join the alliance was in recognition of effective cancer work carried out by BHI over the last 12 months in Leeds, which was supported by Macmillan Cancer Support.
